Name: Weylen
Class: Villager
Age: 18
Area of Birth: Zofian Coast
Appearance: Weylen is roughly 5" 10 and while not buff he is strong. His hair and eyes are silver and his skin tanned from many days out in the sun. When he was young he was made to keep a prim and proper look but since then he has let his hair be a disheveled mess, but he likes it that way. His top is sleeveless but more importantly tight as not to get in the way of any of his movements. He wears half-gloves with arm guards.
Personality: Weylen is a highly opinionated person and has no qualms about telling others what he thinks or how he feels. He cares little for how this affects opinions of him or his relations with others or potentially his family's name. If you speak of the faith of the twins he will call it a morality play. Regardless of if they were gods or not, real or not, what good is worshiping gods that are dead? What blessings can they give you? They were killed by men!
This sort of thinking runs much of his attitude. He is a firm believer and example of do it yourself, often refusing help if it is something even remotely within the realm of possible for him to achieve alone. He is easily viewed as a cruel man who, when he sees a beggar is likely to harass them. On the other hand if that beggar is asking for work he will use what influence he has to ensure that man can earn his way. Some would say he subscribes to old Rigeliian doctrine and others that he embodies the modern faith. He would tell you to piss off he doesn't care what you think.
As the fifth son and seventh child to a minor noble's mistress he knew he would never see inheritance. He masks it well but there is a bit off bitterness in him for it and he will change subjects quickly if it is brought up. He has also long recognized he needs to take action elsewhere if he is to make a name for himself. His ambitions are great and he greatly enjoys being the center of attention.
History: As previously stated he is the seventh born child to his father's mistress and there are two others born to his proper wife. This meant he was born into a good life since his father was a nobleman but he was also rarely looked at unless it was something negative. His family's claim to fame is as seaside traders and shipwrights. Their trade would run up and down the coast but more importantly, and more lucratively, they sailed to and from Arcanea. One of very few people to regularly trade with their transcontinental neighbors.
Through the family business he grew to understand a great deal about the economy and sailing, enough so he could easily find success there, but to him that was not where he would find his fame. He instead, continued to study academics and the blade. It may seem odd to believe he would have been given the funds for academics but that is because he was not. He used what meager allowances he was given and did odd jobs, even as a boy in order to do both. His swordmaster was, in the kindest of words, not very good. He was a drunk failure of a mercenary but he did teach Weylen a valuable lesson. If someone is desperate for something, they are easy to manipulate as he was.
As for academics he had a proper teacher. She taught him all about the world and history as well as math and other subjects. Along with his teacher keeping up with modern events his family home was always abuzz with news and word of changes. If there was one detail that stuck with him it was the idea of two siblings in line for the throne and a disparity in both of their ideals and actions. This was where he decided what he would do to make his own name. He would become a royal knight and serve the one of the two he believed in. This way he could have their ear and be close when the war of succession begins.
But first he needed to get attention and feats worthy of fame beneath his belt...
