Standing above all other rankings and hierarchies of nobility across Valentia is the Royal Family. The sacred lineage of the One Kingdom’s founder, the Royal Family has ruled Valentia for all the centuries post the unification of the continent. Many members of nobility can claim some degree of heritage from the royal line, but they are far too low on the list to be considered for the throne. Those that are make up for the modern Royal Family.
King Alphonse II
Age: 59
Class: Baron
Summary: The current King of Valentia. Aging, though wise, he was never a star warrior or student but was instead noted for his keen intuition. Alphonse surrounded himself with skilled, loyal advisors rather than those who simply held power or possessed marriage ties to his family. It earned him quiet scorn amongst the nobility, but led to a very healthy reign. As he continues to age, though, it seems Alphonse’s reign seems to crumble as well.
Crown Prince Auron I
Age: 31
Class: Archsage
Summary: The studious but charming crown prince, Auron is the eldest of all his siblings save his twin sister. He’s a quick witted man who has shown skill in charming potential suitors as well as negotiating with other nobles.
Valentia does not defer the crown based on gender but instead age, which means that Alphonse himself must be the one to name either Auron or Arielle his heir. Given that Auron spends more time in the south capital, with the King, many have come to believe that the choice has already been made.
Crown Princess Arielle IV
Age: 31
Class: Gold Knight
Summary: The dutiful and talented crown princess. Arielle is a stern but intelligent woman, having governed the Rigel fiefdom for quite some time. The Drakengard see her as much their commanding officer as they do the Black Dragon himself, and Arielle had personally led battles in the past against rebels, knaves, and Terrors alike. If Auron would serve Valentia better during times of peace, Arielle would be the ruler for times of strife.
