Black Magic
Black Magic is the name for all magic that can be used in a directly offensive manner. Be it a manipulation of the elements, energy generation, or drawing on darker powers...if the nature of the cast is to cause direct harm or destruction, it falls under the category of Black Magic.
Beginner Tier
All mages can choose one of these spells to start with for free. After that, they cost 100 silver to purchase.
Fire – Basic fire based magic. Can be launched as a sphere, or channeled into a weak stream. Effective easy to cast and control.
Thunder – Basic lightning based magic. Can be channeled in arc-like streams or dropped from the clouds as a weak bolt.
Wind – A gust of wind that is easy to control and manipulate, but not very powerful in a direct offensive.
Miasma – Dark energy that takes a mostly gaseous form. Powerful and easy to manipulate, but a bit slow.
Nosferatu – Once a sacrificial healing spell, has been altered to drain life rather than give or restore it. Not very powerful, but easy to cast. Only Clerics/Priests can cast this spell.
Advanced Tier
All spells in this list cost 1,000 silver.
Ragnarok – Mighty fire magic with far more power, area of effect, and possibilities than basic Fire. From large fireballs to outright detonations, Ragnarok is the most destructive of the element-based magics, but the most taxing to cast.
Thoron – Deadly lightning that can be called from the sky or fired from the hands of the caster. It has a largest cast range out of all the elemental magics, but longer range casts require longer cast times.
Excalibur – Wind magic capable of summoning twisters or sharp, blades of concentrated air to assail your opponents. The fastest and easiest to cast, but not as devastating as the other elements.
Fimbulvetr – A powerful spell that allows one to manipulate ice, but not water. Able to affect terrain and hamper mobility, it has the most utility of the elemental magics.
Mire – Dark energy condensed into a thick, liquid form. Can be launched in blobs or streams at the opponent, or simply be conjured beneath their feet. Has high range, but a cast cost similar to Thoron.
Death – An advanced form of Miasma. Dark magic in gaseous form, capable of spreading across a wide radius to eat away at the enemies, or concentrated into a single area for heavier damage. Quick to cast, but not as powerful as Mire or Apocalypse.
Apocalypse – Pure dark magic in energy form. Imposing beams and pillars of darkness or outright detonations, creating spheres than can engulf enemies like the Void itself. Very destructive, but very taxing.
Seraphim – Drawing on holy energies, holy magic that is effective destroying Terrors. Can be cast in a variety of energy based forms. Bonus effectiveness on Terrors, half on Humans.
Sagittae – A spell that can be cast as physical projectiles, such as actual arrows, spears, or swords, or in energy form as bolts. Covers a wide radius and boasts unmatched range, but has a high cost.
Aura – A burst of magic of either pure or holy energy. As destructive with high radius potential as Ragnarok and Apocalypse, but is similarly taxing.
Master Tier - 15 Gold
